Inspired moments in store, and a general celebration of all things garden...
Welcome to our Instagram feed.
One of the best parts of our job involves working with local growers to source beautiful plants. Today we were busy selecting a stunning collection of orchids that will combine perfectly with all our new pots. For the first time ever, we even have a few whites with triple flower stems!
It's going to be a tough week for cyclamen! Keep yours happy during the hot days ahead by bringing them into a cool room indoors, or placing them in a shady spot outside.
With a hot week ahead of us, I'm hanging out for cooler days and spring flowering bulbs... A colourful range of hyacinths, freesias, muscari and bluebells has just arrived in store, with daffodils and tulips to follow shortly.
My lovely human family has been replaced with this awesome plant family! They are so quite, don’t fight over fortnite, only require water once a week & the occasional feed! Winning! I guess I will let you adopt one or two, they have just arrived at the nursery & will be ready & waiting for you this weekend.
View into our little urban jungle 🌱there lots for everyone! Today we had a visitor all the way from Albury! You never know what you will find when you go looking 🍃
Lovely bees enjoying all our flowering cottage perennials. Freshly stocked today with lots of hardy summer flowering plants! These Stachys byzantina are one of my old favourites, the furry grey foliage is just adorable.
Smile 😊 just a friendly reminder to check your cucumbers & zucchini’s each day as they grow so quickly you soon end up with a monster like this! It’s supposed to be a patio snack cucumber. The one above I picked at just the right time! Perfect little snack size! Now get in my tummy! (Who am I kidding, one of my kids tummies, they love these! I never get any!)
Cats love plants too! Here is Cloud enjoying his bowl of catnip and a quick picture of him after! Little Willow likes it too!
After a scoring 43 degree day in Melbourne yesterday, strong winds & then rain my Iceberg Roses are still looking exceptional! These are growing so happily in my front garden with very little attention apart from a good prune in July, a dose of Sudden Impact for Roses in spring & then a light prune in late summer. They flower from early spring right through until the beginning of winter! They also have a very pretty light fragrance to them which I just love. An often overlooked rose but certainly a strong performer.
Special order of 135 petunias just arrived in store, now to keep these in pristine condition until their delivery to the clients property on Monday. Wish us luck on this hot windy day in Malvern.

White hydrangeas are back in store, just in time for Christmas! These are an exceptionally large flowering variety, with white blooms that age to shades of pink and green. For those of you waiting for oak leaf hydrangeas, we had a fresh drop of those in today too 🌿
Heatwave alert! It's going to be a scorcher in Melbourne tomorrow, so don't forget to protect your hydrangeas from the sun and keep them well watered. At Town & Country Gardens we water ours twice a day once the temperatures warm up, and strongly recommend you do the same!
